About PZ2 DB

PZ2 DB is an unofficial fan reference for Planet Zoo 2. It lists every animal's habitat needs and shows which animals the game's own data says can share a habitat. Unofficial fan reference. Where the numbers come from

All 136 animal entries use the official Planet Zoo 2 Zoopedia data published by Frontier Developments. The current set was exported on 2026-10-05. Temperatures, areas, barrier grades, group sizes, life stages, enrichment items and the thriving and neutral cohabitation lists are shown as published. Names are the in-game English names.

The site is checked against that data again after game updates. The changelog records every change we see between two exports.

• ✓Official The value is taken from the official data.
• –Not applicable The requirement does not apply to that animal. For example, exhibit animals live in tanks and have no land area.
• Not in official data The official data has no value for this field.

What we calculate ourselves

Two things on this site are calculated by us, and each is labelled where it appears:

• The habitat planner totals: minimum area plus the extra area per additional animal, summed per species. It is a planning estimate and the game makes the final check.
• The shared temperature range and terrain overlap, which come from intersecting official ranges.

What we do not use

We do not use game screenshots, official animal artwork or logos. The letter tiles are our own drawings. Descriptions on this page set are written by us from the numbers; we do not reproduce the Zoopedia text.

Corrections

If a value looks wrong, write to [email protected] with the animal name and what you saw in the game. We will compare it with the official data.
